Description

The school proposes glider pilot training tailored to helping you discover soaring & progress up to getting your full glider pilots license. The French BIA theory courses are also dispensed at the Sisteron Glider School.

The BIA is a ground-school course of basic training in aeronautical culture.

The various subjects covered include – aerodynamics, mechanics of flight, aircraft technology & information, meteorology, navigation, & aeronautical history.

Theoretical ground school in French, which are entirely free of charge, are taught all year long at Aéroclub International Sisteron (ACIS).

The main part of the BIA training program is scheduled over 4-5 days during each French school vacation period, e.g., October, December, February & April, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Reviewing & preparatory tests will be scheduled on 2 or 3 afternoons just before the official exam.

All classes are held in the Aéroclun briefing room using a video projector. They will be taught by Danny Abel-Coindre, an ACIS volunteer & certified teacher with a CAEA (Certificat d’Aptitude à l’Enseignement Aéronautique) & many years of aeronautical experience as airline pilot & flight instructor.

Club & BIA financial scholarships may be awarded to eligible candidates to assist them in becoming glider pilots.

We offer a 4 Weeks Package which should allow a good chance for a student to achieve solo standard by the end of the course.

4 WEEKS OBJECTIF SOLO PACKAGE
The 4 Weeks Package includes:
club membership
basic FFVP license/insurance
flight logbook
3 hours of towing
25 hours of glider flight instruction & glider ground simulator training.

OBJECTIF BPP PACKAGE (PILOT LICENCE)
This program is offered for candidates who wish to obtain a French gliding licence. This program is available to young candidates having successfully gone through the Sisteron solo-flight course & who have soloed.
