Fear of Flying Course on the Airbus A320 Flight Simulator in Brussels

Fear of flying should not stop you from travelling. Starting from the fact that one in two French people is under stress from flying & this fear is mainly due to a lack of knowledge of the aircraft & to misconceptions, AviaSim has set up an individual course to deal with the issue.

An individual internship is one of the keys to the success of AviaSim’s Aviation Fear Course. Everyone does not experience identical fears, which makes it possible to adapt the sessions to everyone’s fear in order to respond more effectively. Also an individual session makes it possible to confide more easily & to dare to ask all the questions you have, which is not easy when you are in a group.

On the other hand, the internship is composed of 3 sessions of two hours which can be carried out the same day, over two or three days. We adapt ourselves to your availabilities & those of our simulators in order to realize your internship in the best possible conditions.

Session 1: Theory

The first session is essential because it will allow a quick diagnosis of your fear. The entire course will be adapted to better respond to it. We will then discuss several theoretical aspects to better familiarize you with the aeronautical world which is generally unknown & help you underst& the science before flight.

Session 2: A flight in real conditions

The second session will be devoted to a flight in real conditions, as can it happens in an airline. We will discuss the preparation of the flight plan, with a study of the weather conditions & the trajectory. It will then be time to get in the simulator to complete the previously prepared flight.

This step is a first approach of the simulator, allowing to desacralize what happens inside the cockpit.

Session 3: Flight in exceptional conditions

The third & last stage of this training course against fear of flying will test several flights with degraded conditions: breakdowns, rain, snow, strong wind, etc. Thanks to our simulators, exact replicas of real cockpits, we have the possibility to adjust all the parameters in order to be closer to reality. This step, which can be difficult, will show that what we think are degraded conditions from a passenger’s eye, is very generally very easily managed by pilots in the cabin. In addition, we will show you that everything is being done by airlines, aircraft manufacturers & pilots to solve the problems that can be faced in order to make aeronautical transport the safest mode of transport in the world.
