Managing Director, David Smillie has 37 years of experience in the aviation industry with a background in Air Traffic Management & Airport Operations. Previously holding numerous senior management positions & air traffic licenses at 8 national & international airports. He also has extensive experience in General Aviation flight operations having held multiple pilots, instructor & examiner ratings on a variety of aircraft. In addition, David also represented the industry on the Airside Operations SIG & on the Aviation Industry Skills Board.

Having worked at Heathrow, Glasgow, Cumbernauld, Dubai, Prestwick, Gloucestershire, Swansea, Coventry & Leeds/Bradford airports, David has experience in all airport environments & understands the needs & challenges that require dynamic solutions. David has represented the UK regional airport sector at the Future Airspace Strategy, Industry Implementation group, Deployment steering Group & various sub groups.

He previously Chaired the Airside Operations Special interest Group & was a member of the Aviation Industry Skills Board which is tasked with delivering professional standards for airside operations operatives.
