Boeing believes that 94,000 of these vacancies will be in Europe alone.

Based in the sunniest city in Scotland (that is a fact!), Tayside Aviation’s Dundee base is home to our 20 light aircraft, classroom training facilities and engineering support services.

Our Dundee centre is a CAA accredited Flight Training Organisation (FTO) and our additional facility at Fife (Glenrothes) Airport is a Registered Training Facility (RTF). Our experienced staff provide a full range of pilot courses from Private Pilot Level (LAPL, PPL) to Commercial Pilot Level (CPL, MEP, IR and MCC) and Flight Instructor Training (FI) on a full-time or part-time basis.

Tayside Aviation is an Approved Training Organisation and is the nominated flight school of Loganair. Upon completion of the Commercial Pilot Level (CPL) students are selected by Loganair to further their training on their commercial airline; the first step to a career as a commercial airline pilot.

Private Pilot Licence
Why not make this the year to take up the challenge of an exciting and rewarding career as a professional airline pilot? You could also start an amazing new hobby and become a private pilot and the envy of all your friends

We run these events regularly throughout the year and these are proving to be extremely popular. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet the staff, see round our premises and check out our fleet of 18 aircraft and Flight Simulator.

The European (EASA) Private Pilot’s Licence is a comprehensive course, which will take you a minimum of 45 hours to achieve. PPL students can start to log hours towards their licence at the age of 14 and they must be 16 years old before they take their first solo flight. You will need to pass a medical test to ensure that you are physically safe to fly. This must be carried out by a specially qualified medical examiner.

About RAF Cadets
For over 25 years Tayside Aviation has proudly delivered the RAF Air Cadet Pilot Scheme (ACPS).

The RAF Air Cadet Organisation offers fun, adventure and incredible experiences. Sponsored by the Royal Air Force, this UK-wide cadet force has more than 40,000 members aged between 12 and 20. The Air Cadet Organisation provides hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop its young cadets. The flight training received at Tayside Aviation is one of those amazing experiences offered by the Air Cadet Organisation and it is the important first step in flying solo.

Aircraft Engineering
We have a large maintenance hangar onsite and maintain our own fleet of 20 aircraft. This ensures that any routine maintenance and regular checks are carried out efficiently and on time. It also means we have little or no “down time” which enables us to keep our students in the air.

We have an avionics department who maintain and replace all the electrical equipment on board the aircraft. We also maintain around 30 private aircraft from customers from all over Scotland.
