Our Aircraft

Our aircraft is a meticulously cared for and CAA Certified Extra 300/200. The EA200 is a conventional gear, tandem, carbon winged monoplane capable of Unlimited Category competition aerobatics. Our particular 200 has performance upgrades to the engine and propeller combination to allow a higher maximum continuous power output and benefits from professional tuning of the flight controls for optimum performance.

Safety is our key priority, which led us to choose the Extra over other aerobatic types. The EA200 is certified to +/- 10g (+/- 8g dual), with a design ultimate load far in excess of these figures. Both cockpits are fitted with double Hooker Harnesses to ensure comfort and safety whilst conducting aerobatics. Weight and balance is not restricted, and we can accommodate taller pilots far more comfortably than in other types.

Our Flights

Our rate is £300/block hour for all training & solo hire on the Extra 200, with landing fee at home base included! Circuits are being charged at a special promotional rate of £1 (inc VAT) until 31st May 2021.

Theoretical knowledge training included at zero cost to the student. Own aircraft training is £50/block hour.

Any of our flight training can be used towards the 1 hour dual with an instructor in order to revalidate your SEP rating by experience. We also have an in house SEP examiner available for renewals and revalidations.

Are you thinking of a career in aviation or perhaps taking it up aerobatics as a hobby? Enquire above for information on our aerobatic introductory experience flights.

Our aircraft is fitted with EFIS, engine monitoring systems and modern avionics.

Services

SEP Renewal, Revalidation & Refresher Training
We can deliver SEP class rating training, renewals, revalidations and tailored refresher training in your aircraft or ours. Our instructors are experienced in a huge range of types (including EFIS, complex, high performance, turbine, tailwheel etc.). We have an in-house EASA & UK CAA SEP examiner for any required proficiency checks or administrative tasks you may have.

Part-FCL Aerobatic Rating
Learn to fly aerobatics safely, comfortably and enjoyably in our Extra 200. The AR is required for pilots to fly aerobatic manoeuvres in Part-21 (what used to be known as EASA aircraft). We will cover all the basic Aresti figures such as loops, rolls and spins. Most importantly we will give you confidence in how to recover when they get a bit pear shaped. The AR course is a minimum of 8 hours ground school and 5 hours flight training. There is no obligation to book the whole course – we can offer a taster aerobatics training session to see if you like it first (you will.)

Formation Training
Flying close formation is a demanding challenge of handling finesse and teaches the skills of leadership and teamwork in an aviation environment. We can deliver tailored formation training in our aircraft or yours if it is suitable.

Aerobatic Competition Coaching
Develop your aerobatic skills and join the great community of competition pilots with our Advanced level coach. All training is tailored to your individual needs and goals, and is a great way to follow on from the AR.

Spin and Advanced Stalling Training
No longer part of the PPL/CPL syllabus, we believe all pilots should experience spinning and learn how to recover from one safely. There are countless GA incident reports where inadvertent spins were a factor – learn and gain confidence in a safe environment flying our Extra 200 with experienced aerobatic and Advanced Upset Recovery instructors.

Upset Recovery Training
What would you do in the event of a wake turbulence encounter resulting in an aircraft upset? A vital flight safety course for any pilot, we will teach you to recover from any plausible light aircraft upset in our Extra 200. Training is tailored to your individual needs and goals, and will be delivered by experienced aerobatic and Advanced Upset Recovery instructors. We are currently working on approval to deliver Advanced UPRT for budding transport category pilots.

Aerobatic Instructor
An instructor wishing to give aerobatic instruction must hold this qualification – we will tailor the training delivered to the individual trainee instructor so that they enter their Aerobatic Instructor Assessment of Competence confident and able to deliver instruction to a high standard. There is no minimum flight training or groundschool hours, as the course is based on the train to proficiency concept. We can deliver this training on our Extra 200 or your own aerobatic aircraft (if suitable).

Bespoke Aviation Consultancy Services
We also offer bespoke consultancy services for media, TV and filming. We can source aircraft, pilots or locations and provide technical advice for whatever your project. We have experience working with two major TV studios in the UK and several social media channels – please contact us to discuss your project.
