Metal 15m Glider Trailer For Sale From Bath Wiltshire and North Dorset Gliding Club On AvPay
Metal 15m Pik trailer, could potentially be adapted to other 15m gliders. Un-braked with max gross weight of 750kg. Tows fine & has reasonable tyres. There is some corrosion, nothing critical yet, but would need treatment sooner rather than later. The location of the keys is unknown so the locks will need replacing & will need lighting board to tow away as the electrics need attention. With a bit of TLC, this can be a decent trailer. There are different types of aircraft trailers designed to transport aircraft over land. A flatbed trailer is a basic platform with no sides or roof. It provides a flat surface for loading and transporting aircraft. Flatbed trailers are often used for smaller aircraft or components that can be securely strapped down. A lowboy trailer, also known as a lowbed or low loader trailer, is designed to transport heavy and oversized loads. It has a lower deck height compared to a standard flatbed trailer, allowing taller aircraft or larger components to be transported with sufficient clearance. A gooseneck trailer features a forward extension that extends over the towing vehicle’s rear axle. This design allows for a shorter overall length while providing increased stability and weight distribution. Gooseneck trailers are commonly used for transporting larger aircraft or heavy loads. A tilt trailer, also known as a tilt-bed or tilt-deck trailer, has a tilting mechanism that allows the entire trailer bed to be tilted hydraulically. This facilitates easy loading and unloading of aircraft or other cargo by creating a ramp-like effect. An enclosed trailer provides a fully enclosed and weather-protected environment for transporting aircraft. It has walls, a roof, and sometimes a climate control system. Enclosed trailers are often used for transporting smaller aircraft, helicopters, or sensitive aviation equipment. When it comes to transporting an aircraft across international borders, it is possible to use a trailer, depending on the size and type of aircraft. However, several factors come into play, such as transportation regulations, customs procedures, and the logistical challenges associated with international transportation. Transporting an aircraft to a different country typically involves coordination with specialized transport companies experienced in handling oversized cargo and international shipments. They will ensure compliance with import/export regulations, obtain necessary permits, and arrange for customs clearance and secure transport. It’s important to note that transporting aircraft via trailers is more common for smaller aircraft or disassembled components. Larger commercial or military aircraft typically require specialized transport methods, such as shipping via cargo planes or disassembly and containerized transport. If you’re considering purchasing an aircraft from a different country, it’s advisable to consult with aviation experts, transport companies, and customs agents who can guide you through the specific requirements and processes involved in transporting the aircraft to your desired location.
