SMA Extension Cable (60cm)

There are several types of communication systems used in drones to facilitate various aspects of drone operation and control. Radio Control (RC) is the most common and fundamental communication system used in drones. It involves a radio transmitter (remote controller) that sends control signals to the drone’s receiver, allowing the pilot to manoeuvre the drone. RC communication typically operates on specific frequency bands, such as 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz. Wi-Fi communication is used in many consumer-grade drones, enabling the transmission of video feeds from the drone’s camera to a mobile device or a remote controller with an integrated screen. Wi-Fi can also be used for certain command and control functions, allowing the pilot to adjust settings and access additional features through a mobile app or a ground station. Some drones, particularly those used for long-range operations or beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) missions, leverage cellular networks for communication. Cellular connectivity enables real-time data transmission, control, and monitoring of the drone over large distances. It allows for remote access to the drone’s telemetry, video feed, and control inputs. In situations where cellular networks are unavailable or impractical, satellite communication can be utilized for drone operations. Satellite communication provides connectivity in remote areas or during missions that require global coverage. It allows for control, data transmission, and tracking of the drone using satellite links. Wireless Local Area Network (LAN) communication enables drones to communicate with other devices or systems in close proximity, such as ground control stations or other drones within a network. Wireless LAN can facilitate coordinated flight operations, data sharing, and collaborative missions involving multiple drones. Data link communication involves the transmission of telemetry data, sensor readings, and other information between the drone and the ground station. It allows the pilot or operator to monitor the drone’s performance, receive real-time flight data, and make informed decisions based on the received information. The Command and Control (C2) link is a critical communication system that handles the exchange of control commands and flight instructions between the pilot or ground control station and the drone. This link ensures that the drone responds accurately to the pilot’s inputs and follows the desired flight path. Telemetry communication provides real-time monitoring and transmission of various flight parameters and sensor data from the drone to the ground station. This includes information such as altitude, speed, GPS coordinates, battery level, and sensor readings. Telemetry data allows the pilot to monitor the drone’s status and make informed decisions during flight. These are some of the primary types of communication systems used in drones. The specific communication methods employed can vary depending on the drone’s purpose, range of operation, and the requirements of the mission or application.
