Fusion Red & Black Skydiving Suit

Skydiving suits, also known as jumpsuits or skydiving wingsuits, are designed to improve aerodynamics and performance during freefall. Skydiving suits often have wings or extra fabric panels under the arms and between the legs, increasing the surface area of the body. This expanded surface area allows for greater lift, similar to the wings of an airplane. By increasing lift, the skydiver can achieve a more horizontal body position, reducing the rate of descent and increasing the forward speed. The design of skydiving suits aims to minimize drag, which is the resistance encountered when moving through the air. The fabric used in jumpsuits is usually sleek and form-fitting, reducing the amount of turbulent airflow around the body. This results in less drag, allowing the skydiver to maintain a more streamlined and efficient body position during freefall. Skydiving suits can enhance stability and control by providing additional surface area for the skydiver to manipulate. The extra fabric panels act as aerofoils, allowing the skydiver to adjust their body position and manipulate the airflow around them. This control helps maintain stability, perform manoeuvres, and achieve the desired flight path. The combination of increased lift and reduced drag provided by a skydiving suit result in an improved glide ratio. The glide ratio refers to the distance covered horizontally compared to the vertical distance descended. With a higher glide ratio, skydivers can cover more ground horizontally during freefall, allowing for longer and more dynamic flights. It’s important to note that not all skydivers use wingsuits or specialized jumpsuits. The type of suit used depends on the discipline of skydiving and personal preference. Different disciplines, such as formation skydiving, free flying, or swooping, may require different types of suits optimized for their specific needs. When using a skydiving suit, it’s essential to receive proper training and instruction on how to wear and use it safely. Different suits have different flight characteristics, and understanding how to control and manoeuvre with the suit is crucial for a safe and enjoyable skydiving experience.
