Wayward Spirit End Of June UpdateWow, I can’t quite believe it is almost mid June… almost half way through the year! Things are slowly coming together and we hope to have some news pretty soon.

Working away on the photography side of things and slowly getting a little bit of a reputation for producing excellent work in the area which is nice to hear! It is a slow thing to start up and this week I have been hampered by car trouble, that is being resolved soon (and hopefully this round of repairs will see the old Jeep running well until that happens)

The new printer has arrived and I have been doing some testing. I have a bit more to do this week and then I need to sit down with a calculator, some numerical dyslexia, some note pads and some grey matter to work out a pricing scale for gallery quality prints, and what sizes to offer them in! I think I may keep it simple with 2 print sizes for “traditional format” prints and 1 size for panoramics for the moment and we will see how that works out! Everything is going to be strictly limited edition though as I like the idea of providing something unique and hand made to each client rather than a mass produced copy of something that anyone else can also have hanging on their walls. Whilst this may push the prices up a little bit as I can’t rely on “money maker” shots, it does keep everything nice and fresh! I think I will limit to a maximum number of prints AND a maximum time on sale too, so whichever comes first will be the end of the run for that particular photograph!

This may be “living dangerously” mind!

Wayward Spirit End Of June Update going for greenOne of the best things we have going for us at the moment is the support from those close to us, & that support is making a number of things possible – including a push towards a more sustainable business & a more sustainable lifestyle. It is baby steps, but last week we took a giant stride as we signed the paperwork to trade the gas guzzling Jeep in for a tree-hugging electric Toyota! The Jeep takes the brunt of the miles & was starting to show it’s age with numerous breakdowns & warning signs that a big(ger) bill is imminent. By the time Autumn comes around, then, we will be saying goodbye to fossil fuels for most of our journeys.

But plans don’t stop there – & I really am putting my money where my mouth is here – we are attempting to go so much further! There are a couple of projects in motion at present, firstly to remove our oil boiler & replace it with a heat pump system along with a supplementary wood stove up in our mezzanine living area followed by a renewable energy array of some description, feeding into battery banks & hot water cylinders, with an aim to get as close to “off-grid” as possible.

I will go into all this more in the future, & as our ideas & plans come together, but it is an area that I am really happy that we are starting to make some progress on.

Wayward Spirit End Of June Update visit to skyeLast week saw me shooting a stunning holiday rental on the Isle of Skye. I thought I would share some of the photographs here whilst I update my portfolio pages with a few new shots!
