We became a flight school of choice for aspiring global aviators because we recognized that we needed to build our reputation one student at a time. Where one-size-fits-all flight academies see a name on a roster, we see an individual, with their own unique strengths, challenges, and needs. Since 1980, the mission of Hillsboro Aero Academy has been to provide students from 75+ countries with the finest airplane and helicopter career training in the sky.

Founded in 1980 with a single helicopter, Hillsboro Aero Academy has grown to become one of the largest multi-campus helicopter and airplane flight schools in the United States. Our mission statement reflects our commitment to our students and to the entire global flight community: to transform lives by preparing the next generation of global aviators to achieve their dream career.

Services

Whether you have your heart set on firefighting or emergency medical services, or you dream of flying tourists over breathtaking scenery, Hillsboro will help you get there. Our flight school has the helicopter flight lessons and courses you need to start your career.

All of our helicopter flight training courses are Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-approved and we offer Federation Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 61 and Part 141 training. We also offer European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved courses.  We even offer specialty helicopter flight courses to include with your FAA helicopter training—like external load operations and mountain flying—so that you can set yourself up for the career you’ve always dreamed of.

Professional Pilot Programme 
Our helicopter pilot school offers a full training program for people whose goal is to work as a career helicopter pilot. the professional pilot program includes helicopter flight lessons for these certificates and ratings; private, instrument, commercial, and certified flight instructor.

EASA/FAA 

Our first of its kind EASA FAA program is forinternational students who wish to pursue a helicopter pilot career in europe. it includes the same certificates as our FAA helicopter training program, plus all required EASA coursework

Additional Rating: Airline Transport Pilot
To fly transport helicopters, you need additional certification beyond our FAA helicopter training program.  The Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP) certification allows you to pilot aircraft in a carrier service with a max gross weight of over 12,500 pounds and/or over nine passengers.

Additional Ratings: Specialized
If you want to prepare for a more challenging and exciting career, it’s a great idea to add specialized helicopter flight lessons to your Professional Pilot Program to further enhance your skills and expand your career opportunities.

Professional Pilot Program
The Airplane Professional Pilot Program is the full aviation training course for people whose goal is to work as a professional airplane pilot. And our new Accelerated pacing allows students to complete every rating in the program in less than 12 months.
