We are specialists in the acquisition and processing of aerial photography, and in the creation of high quality digital imagery products including 4k video. We are a company that prides itself on working to strict flight plans to promote the safety of drone flights in the UK. We pride ourselves on adhering to all the CAA rules and regulations to work in a fully safe environment. West Wales Drone Services hold a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Permission to fly Commercial Operations (PfCO) or now known as Operational Authorisation throughout the UK and are fully insured with public liability insurance. We now also hold the new A2 CofC authorisation which will enable us to fly closer in more places once the new CE marked drones are available. We have also recently gained a Drone Thermography Level 1 certification, this will enable us to provide Thermal inspections on buildings and solar panels to name a few. We hold a clear and current DBS check if required for any site that would require one.

We have a vast knowledge in the basic functions of a camera that enables us to get that required shot, and have invested in the latest technology to assist the processing and editing of all imagery.

We also have the ability to provide ground based photography and video ranging from Headshots and Portraits to event photography and video. This combined with aerial footage we can provide an all in one solution for your event or business.

As PfCO (operational Authorisation) holders we have to follow all the required safety precautions, we contact all required bodies for authorisation and permission to fly (Air traffic control, RAF, MOD, Police, Land owners and any other persons or bodies that may be required). We also provide a pre-site and on-site risk assessment as part of our flight planning procedure, we work through an extensive pre-flight and post-flight checklist to ensure our equipment is in good working order. All our flights are logged onto our system which can be handed over 24 hours after job completion as a flight pack for your records. We follow these procedures to make sure every flight we make is safe not only for us but for every client we do work for.

Please Note. You should always make sure any operator you hire has the correct procedure and paperwork in place as you may end paying more than once.

CONSTRUCTION

Drone technology in the Construction Industry is a game changer.
Progression Photography– We offer a cost effective service, capturing data from different angles of your site, we can return as many times as you would like, these images and videos are very useful for site progress reports, meaning that you do not necessarily have to visit or be on the site yourself, which means you can be updated from the comfort of your office or home. Our UAV’s/Drones are GPS enabled, so every photo can be taken from the exact same position, every time we visit site.
Site Mapping– We can fly a pre-programmed flight and allow the UAV to capture data of the site, these images can be uploaded converted into a complete map, leaving traditional methods behind by days or even weeks.
Safety – We provide a solution to eliminate working at height and keeping feet on the ground, with there being no need to hire expensive scaffolding as we can operate up to 400ft. Our UAV’s/Drones will capture all the data required, whilst we and your staff are safely on the ground. You can view the drones live stream and coordinate with the operator to the issue areas. Data is handed over on job completion or can be downloaded at a later date.

PROPERTY

Aerial photos and videos capture the size of the property its land, gardens and the surrounding area and views that are not possible with normal photography. Our drone operator use remotely operated UAV’s/drones that can give a potential buyers an elevated view that makes your property stand out from the rest of the crowd on websites, Facebook or any other social media site.
Our Wales based operators can increase your marketing potential of your residential or commercial property. Houses, apartments or flats that may look plain on the ground can be re-vitalised using our aerial shots.
Google’s, Apples or other aerial maps views via satellite are out of date and do not show the true picture. We can capture aerial photos which can be taken from ground level to 400ft to show an up to date and accurate layout.
Using our UAV’s/Drones, we make marketing an affordable option for estate agents. Lots of clients are now asking for aerial photos of there house and are prepared to pay to gain an advantage when selling their homes.

INSPECTION

Want to inspect a roof 10 times faster?

Rooftops are a critical part of building infrastructure and must be monitored carefully. Automatically collect high resolution roof imagery and generate comprehensive roof reports much faster than traditional methods.
UAV’s/Drone’s provide a flexible solution for high level aerial surveys and drone roof inspections. We can give you the ability to view footage in real time and steer the camera to points of interest. Alternatively we can work in partnership with your nominated surveyor.
A scaffold to access the roof of a normal family home is in excess of £1000. It can be weeks before the scaffolding is erected and the same before it can be taken down again. It seems like a lot of hassle to check the condition of your roof, and what if you don’t find much wrong? That’s thousands wasted!
Drone photo or Video Roof Inspection allows you to check the condition of your roof and it’s structures at a low cost, with low inconvenience and low impact on your families living environment. Our domestic video roof survey takes around an hour, provides a comprehensive record of your roofs condition and can inspect even the most awkward areas. You can see the results immediately and make the right decisions about your properties maintenance needs.
Images can be supplied in jpeg or RAW formats, allowing faults or areas of concern to be more easily highlighted.

EVENTS

You have set up the event, you have a photographer on the ground to capture the day, but have you wondered how it would look from above? All the work you’ve put into your event, you will really want people to show off all your hard work and planning.
Event photography in this era of social media feeds is all about capturing that big picture. Most videos promoting festivals, sports, and large conferences in recent years have begun with drone footage, and aerial shots showing the scale of events are the obvious way to go for eye catching media visuals. also with large crowds, it’s important to work with a safety focused operator!
We can provide a start to finish production for all corporate, trade, fundraiser, sporting, marine, music, social, and indoor events, offering aerial and ground photography and filming, in intimate or small environments where drones aren’t possible to use. Our experience will ensure all aspects of your event are captured and promoted through the images and videos we capture.

Drone Thermal Inspection

What is Thermal Imaging?

Thermal imaging cameras are devices that translate “thermal” energy (heat) into visible light in order to analyse a particular object or
scene. The image produced is known as a thermogram and is analysed through a process called thermography. Thermal imaging cameras take measuring temperature to the next level; instead of just getting a number for the temperature you get a picture showing the temperature differences of a surface and with Radiometric capability too, spot temperature readings can be taken at any point in the image.
Originally developed for military use, thermal imaging cameras have migrated into other fields and have found many uses. Firefighters use them to see through smoke, find people and localise hotspots of fires.
Law enforcement uses the technology to manage surveillance activities, locate and apprehend suspects, investigate crime scenes, and conduct search and rescue operations. Power line maintenance technicians locate overheating joints and parts to eliminate potential failures. Where thermal insulation becomes faulty, building construction technicians can see heat leaks to improve the efficiencies of cooling or heating. They are also common tools used by home inspectors.

Other ways drone thermal imaging can be used:

Property Inspections
Domestic House Thermal Survey
Thermal Source For Roof Inspection
Water Ingress Detection
Photovoltaic Surveys
Heat Loss & Insulation Inspection
Solar Panel inspection
Review High-Voltage Infrastructure
Thermal Imaging in Search and Rescue
Farming and Agriculture – Crop Monitoring
Land Surveying – Underground Fires at Landfill Sites
We hold a Level 1 in Drone Thermography, get in contact for a quotation.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO

Along with our aerial services we can also offer conventional photography and video. We use high resolution DSLR camera’s for high quality photos for for use at weddings, commercial properties, estate agents and events, we can also provide multiple camera’s on location from 1 person 1 camera to 3 camera’s with 3 staff. This can then also be combined with drone footage for your event.
We use multiple HD and 4K recording devices for video, from DSLR camera’s to Go Pro’s depending on what you require and again we can provide multiple devices and staff if required.
We also have the ability to provide HD time lapse camera’s for any project or site, this can be on location from 1 day to over 1 year depending on your project (site visit’s will be required for battery change and data removal at extra cost).
