Special Mission Aircraft From Egmont Aviation
The Right Tool For Every Critical Operation
Some tasks cannot wait. Fires spread by the hour. Borders stretch for hundreds of kilometers. Disasters leave governments with minutes to make decisions that affect thousands of lives.
Aircraft built for special missions exist for exactly these moments – purpose-equipped platforms that give governments, agencies & specialized operators the ability to see, assess & act from the air with speed & precision that no ground force can match.
At Egmont Aviation, we represent two of the world’s most respected manufacturers of special mission aircraft – Diamond Aircraft (DA62MPP, DA42MPP, Diamond DART series) & Thrush Aircraft (Fire Bird, 710P, 510P2+, 510P2) – offering a complete range of platforms that covers everything from long-endurance surveillance & precision mapping to direct aerial firefighting.
Description
Diamond Sees. Thrush Acts.
The DA62’s dominance comes from three things that run through almost every mission: its up to 12-hour endurance, its 710 kg payload that accommodates multiple sensor types simultaneously & its real-time SATCOM data link that turns it into an airborne command post rather than just an observation platform.
The DA62 MPP detects the fire, maps the perimeter & transmits coordinates. The Fire Bird puts retardant on it. The DA62 MPP surveys the crop stress zones. The 710P+ treats them.
Without Thrush aircraft, Diamond platforms generate intelligence that someone else has to act on – with outside equipment, outside operators & outside contracts. With Thrush in the fleet the entire loop closes within the Egmont ecosystem.
The Egmont Ecosystem: A Turn-Key Approach
We support your mission from the first consultation to the thousandth flight hour:
➤ Strategic Consultation – Mission-specific aircraft & sensor selection tailored to your operational objectives, geography & budget;
➤ Acquisition & Logistics – Official sales, ferry flights &full support for international registration under your national aviation authority;
➤ Operational Support – Factory-authorized maintenance, spare parts supply & AOG (Aircraft on Ground) emergency response;
➤ Elite Pilot Training – A full-scale EASA-standard Flight School, from PPL & ATPL to specialized Type Ratings for MPP surveillance platforms & Turboprop operations.
Diamond Special Mission
Aerial intelligence begins with the right platform – one built for purpose.
Diamond Aircraft has spent decades engineering exactly this kind of platform. The result is a special mission aircraft family that approaches the problem differently from the rest of the industry: not a military platform repurposed for civilian use, but a clean-sheet composite airframe designed from the outset to carry heavy, diverse sensor payloads efficiently, quietly & at a fraction of the operating cost of conventional alternatives.
Two Platforms. One Mission Family. Choose Yours.
Both Diamond MPP platforms – DA62 & DA42 – are certified to EASA standards, built from advanced composite materials with an unlimited structural lifetime & powered by heavy-fuel Austro Engines that ensure global operability without dependence on aviation gasoline. Each aircraft can carry multiple sensor types simultaneously, transmit data to the ground in real time via SATCOM or LOS datalink & remain airborne for up to 12 hours on a single sortie.
But DA62 & DA42 are not competitors – they are complements. The right platform depends on the scale of your operation, the sensors your mission requires & the budget you are working within. In many deployments, both aircraft operate together: one providing high-altitude, long-endurance command & intelligence, the other delivering persistent, cost-effective patrol or survey coverage at lower altitude.
Sectors Of Use
Both the DA62 MPP & DA42 MPP are deployed across a wide spectrum of government & agency missions:
✔ Law enforcement & covert surveillance;
✔ Border control & territory monitoring;
✔ Maritime & coastline patrol;
✔ Search & rescue operations;
✔ Disaster assessment & emergency coordination;
✔ Force protection & perimeter surveillance;
✔ Environmental monitoring & oil spill response;
✔ Infrastructure inspection – pipelines, powerlines, roads;
✔ Aerial mapping, photogrammetry & LiDAR survey;
✔ Geophysical & mineral exploration;
✔ Airport landing systems calibration (ILS / VOR / NDB).
What Makes The Platform Exceptional
➤ All-composite airframe. Carbon-fibre construction with no corrosion, no fatigue life limits & an unlimited structural lifespan – the aircraft you buy on day one is structurally identical to the one flying in year twenty;
➤ Heavy-fuel Austro Engines. Both platforms run on Jet-A1 fuel, available at every commercial & military airfield worldwide. No dependence on aviation gasoline, no logistical complications anywhere in the world;
➤ Modular sensor architecture. Certified hard points on the nose, belly, wing pylons & cabin accept a wide range of factory-approved sensor systems – EO/IR cameras, airborne radar, COMINT, LiDAR, large-format cameras, magnetometers & more. Sensor kits swap between sorties without permanent modification or recertification;
➤ Real-time data transmission. Both platforms support simultaneous Line of Sight & Beyond Line of Sight datalink systems, delivering live video, radar imagery & metadata to ground command stations while the aircraft remains on station;
➤ Low acoustic & thermal signature. On-top exhaust routing, optimised propeller configuration & matte finish reduce both noise & infrared signature – critical for sensitive operations where ground detection must be avoided;
➤ Outstanding endurance at minimal cost. Operating at low cost flight hour with sortie endurance of 8 to 12 hours, Diamond MPP platforms make sustained aerial presence economically achievable for agencies & governments of any size;
➤ EASA certified. Globally supported. Full type certification, factory-authorised maintenance, worldwide spare parts supply & structured crew training mean these aircraft are ready to operate – & stay operating – wherever the mission takes them.
DART Aerobatic Turboprop Trainer
