Services
From the own distress to a global player
The first aircraft tug was designed and built in 1993 by Mr. Konrad Zaglauer. The owner of the locksmith and mechanical engineering company of the same name had the claim that he wanted to tow his Piper Arrow 4 no longer by hand, but rather by a motorized hand-pulling device. This was the starting point for a brand called “Flyer-Truck”, which 25 years later developed and manufactured aircraft tugs and built up a global distribution network.
After 25 years of Flyer-Truck Maschinenbau Konrad Zaglauer, the Flyer-Truck brand was acquired by ZAGtruck gmbh on 01.01.2018. ZAGtruck as a specialist for special vehicles and vehicle construction will expand the product portfolio in the future and further expand the electric vehicles division. With different model ranges from 2.0 MT. up to 100 MT. almost all piston and private aircraft can be moved. Helicopter tugs up to 4500 kg complete the portfolio.
The technical innovations are the result of many years of experience in the airport industry and fulfil the demands on safe and easy movement of aircraft on the ground while bearing in mind cost-effectiveness and long-term investments.
Around 450 Flyer-Truck aircraft and helicopter moving machines are in service worldwide in over 25 countries of the world for all current aircraft types.
Philosophy
AVOID DAMAGES and minimize RISKS – that is our ultimate goal. In economic terms, this means to recognize failure potential. Unprofessional moving equipment or makeshift and inappropriate vehicles hold great potential for security risks. The customer is waiting, the crew is ready and the last maneuver due to technical or human error lead to a failure or even damage to the aircraft. A scenario that is often reality. Forward planning and placement are the guarantee for an efficient use of your fleet of aircraft and the safe handling at the General Business Airport.
Sustainability
Our commitment to leadership in sustainability is deeply embedded in our values. Maintaining a balance between economic success, protection of the environment, and social responsibility has been fundamental to our corporate culture for decades. Our pursuit of sustainability is both long-term and entrepreneurial in nature, covering all of our activities throughout the value chain. Having invested many years of focused effort in the cause of sustainable development, we have built up an excellent reputation as a company with globally leading positions in this arena.
