Cirrus Vision Jet G1
The Cirrus Vision Jet G1 is where the Personal Jet category began. Certified by the FAA on 28 October 2016 and delivered to its first customer just weeks later, the G1 introduced the world to single-engine jet ownership without the operational overhead of a traditional business jet. It went on to win the Robert J. Collier Trophy, aviation’s most prestigious annual award, recognising it as one of the most significant achievements in flight.
Power comes from a single Williams International FJ33-5A turbofan producing approximately 1,800 lbs of thrust, giving the G1 a cruise speed of 300 KTAS and a service ceiling of 28,000 feet. Range extends up to 1,200 nautical miles, enough to connect most of the missions a private jet owner actually flies without the fuel stops a piston twin would demand.
Inside, the G1 carries Cirrus’s largest cabin in class, built around a carbon fibre fuselage with panoramic windows that flood the cabin with natural light. Modular seating comes standard for five adults, with an optional third row of two further seats bringing total capacity up to seven occupants, so the layout can flex between an executive configuration and full family seating on the same airframe.
Every G1 is equipped with the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System as standard, making it the first single-engine jet in the world to carry a whole-airframe parachute as factory equipment rather than an aftermarket option. The Perspective flight deck by Garmin, three landscape touchscreen controllers, Electronic Stability and Protection, and a stall recognition stick pusher round out a safety package built to bring turbine confidence to owner-pilots stepping up from piston aircraft.
