Cirrus Vision Jet G2
The Cirrus Vision Jet G2 launched on 8 January 2019 as the first major overhaul of the Vision Jet since certification. It builds on the original G1 with Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum certification, raising the operating ceiling to FL310 and pushing high speed cruise to 305 KTAS, giving owners access to smoother, more efficient flight levels and a longer range of over 1,200 nautical miles.
Power still comes from the Williams International FJ33-5A turbofan, but the G2 introduced Autothrottle as standard, a rare feature on a single-pilot jet at this price point. Autothrottle lets pilots programme an entire flight profile, climbs and descents included, controlling airspeed at the push of a button much like cruise control in a car. Surface Watch was added alongside it, increasing situational awareness during ground operations in busy terminal environments.
The flight deck was upgraded to Perspective Touch+ by Garmin, bringing faster processors, quicker start up, better screen resolution and smoother panning and scrolling than the original G1 avionics suite. New Intelligent Batteries improved cold start reliability and simplified the electrical system, while reworked cabin soundproofing made for a noticeably quieter ride.
Modular seating remains standard for five adults, with an optional third row of two further seats bringing total capacity up to seven, split between a Family Seating configuration or a two-seat Executive layout with a centre console. Every G2 carries the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System as standard, alongside the safety pedigree that later saw the platform become the first single-engine jet certified with Safe Return Emergency Autoland.
