Private Pilot School From Aeropole

The Private Pilot Licence for Aeroplanes is your aircraft driver’s licence. Typically referred to as the PPL or PPL(A), it is the first step in every professional pilot’s path to the skies. It is also the first module in our professional airline pilot course. The private pilot licence is the course that any leisure pilot or someone flying their own business trips needs. It is your licence to fly for fun. No special skills, knowledge or physical fitness are required to become a private pilot—the medical requirements are similar to those for getting a driver’s licence.

Your first licence will allow you to fly single-engine aircraft in fair weather according to visual flight rules (VFR)—also at night if you choose to do the short Night Flying (NF) add-on—to take on passengers, & to fly abroad.

No requirement of physical attendance at school’s premises (attendance by videoconference)
You can study at your own time & pace
You can manage your time & focus on topics in the way that suits your needs best.

Standalone Theory Package
Still unsure about the investment as a whole? Or maybe you just want to do the distance theory package & then leave the option open to fly in another school closer to your home? You can also purchase the theory package separately. All ground school may be done by telepresence without even visiting Denmark or Finland. You will only need to attend certain supervised exams physically in person, on site at our offices &/or Civil Aviation Authority’s facilities.

Practical Flight Training
Practical flight training can be commenced on your first visit. Training is accomplished in a two-seater Diamond DA20 aircraft, many of which at Aeropole are equipped with the Garmin G500 “mini-glass cockpit” & right after getting your PPL licence you will be ready to step up to the four-seater Diamond DA40 with a full glass cockpit (Garmin G1000).

Our price includes all of the following:
47 flight hours (mostly on real aircraft from this millennium; maximum of 5 h may be done in a certified simulator)
Private instruction with a professional flight instructor
Maps & accessories
So basically all services we can produce as a flight school are included.

Our price is exclusive of the following. You will need to pay these to third parties.
Aeromedical examination/certificate fee, payable to the medical doctor.
Landing/navigation fees. Your choice of training base will affect the final costs–please ask for more information!
Flight examiner fee for the final skill test, payable to the examiner.
Licence writing fee collected by the Civil Aviation Authority.

Note that while the flight examiner will charge for his services for the skill test separately, the respective aircraft rental can be included in the 47 hours that we offer for the fixed price.

Theoretical Training
Theoretical studies are carried out as distance learning with online tools & e-books. You read up on the written material at home before attending classroom instruction (ground school) for a total of approximately four full days, spread evenly so that you can focus on a few topics at a time.

Independent studying does not mean you will be alone! Our instructors will be with you from the beginning to the end, answering your questions & helping you at distance & also following your progress. The on-site classroom tuition (ground school) gives you the chance to brush up on any difficult subjects & ask questions face-to-face; if you prefer, even these ground schools can be attended remotely by video!

Start Your Journey Now!
That really is all you need to become a confident, independent & safe pilot. Take to the skies! You will be guided by the best instructors & training programmes in the business.

Medical Fitness
As a rule of thumb, if you are fit for a driver’s licence, then you are most probably fit for flying. Before the solo phase of your practical flight training, ie. flying alone without an instructor, you do need to get a Class 2 or Light Aircraft Pilot License (LAPL) medical certificate.

You do not need a medical certificate in order to sign up for our courses or to start your theoretical studies; we will guide you through the process in person. However, if you have a doubt about your medical fitness or would just otherwise like to make sure you get it before starting any training, we recommend visiting an aeromedical practitioner first — ask us for the contact details or search with “aeromedical examiner” on the Internet!
