We are an active and open club, dedicated to providing flying for all at our attractive airfield located in the beautiful Vale of Evesham.
All who are interested in gliding, from beginner to expert are welcome. We can take starters from their first flight through to high performance soaring in club gliders with expert tuition and support all the way.
Situated very close to an area of uncontrolled airspace in the heart of the Country, we are well placed for the finest soaring conditions and provide all-aerotow launches to provide the best opportunity for great flying.

Power flying is also very much part of our operation and a number of private aircraft are based here, both vintage and modern, adding to Bidford’s unique aviation mix and appeal.
We are a member run club, aiming to support aviation with an active social life, with a clubhouse, bar and outside barbecue area providing us with a first class environment for the many social events that take place throughout the year.
We function through a Committee structure which provides a framework for member involvement to pursue our aim of enabling all who wish to fly to do so with minimal difficulty. We are a registered Community Amateur Sports Club, open to all sectors of the community and we welcome all prospective new members. If you are concerned about costs, we have an Affordable Gliding Scheme designed to assist those on low or modest incomes. Come and see us!

How Do I Begin?
A good place to start is with an Introductory Flight. This will give you a taste of what gliding is all about. With an Introductory Flight you can sit back and enjoy the ride with a fully qualified Introductory Flight Pilot. Alternatively you may wish to give a gift of flight by purchasing a voucher as a present for someone else. Introductory Flight prices start from only £75.00 (Juniors, £95 over 21’s) and includes full membership to Bidford Gliding & Flying Club and all its facilities for 28 days.

What if I want to go further?
Teaching you to fly is a serious business, and Bidford Gliding & Flying Club have BGA Qualified Instructors to train you in all aspects of flight. The Chief Flying Instructor (CFI) is in control of all flying activities and co-ordinates the activities of the instructors, monitoring the progress of trainee pilots up to and beyond their first solo flights.

Solo & Beyond
Taking the controls of a glider on your own for your first solo flight is a great moment for any pilots and one that will be remembered for many years. However this is only the start of the great adventure of flight. You may only wish to soar locally, but if your ambition is to fly cross country then Bidford Gliding & Flying Club has not only the gliders equipped for cross country flight but also Full Category Instructors that are all British National Level competition cross county pilots.

Caravan Park & Camping
The caravan park has space for 30 caravans which are allocated to active members of the club on a first come first served basis. Many of these plots also have power hook-ups. The park is conveniently located adjacent to the clubhouse where toilets and showers can be found. There is also ample space for pitching tents and some chalet accommodation if required.
To enquire about siting a caravan, pitching a tent or renting a chalet at Bidford airfield please contact the Camping Officer via e-mail.

The Chalet
This sleeps 3, one single bed and two bunk beds. It has a lounge/living area and access to a communal kitchen next door. Showering and toilet facilities are in the main clubhouse building. £10 per night or £5 per person if shared.

The Shack
This has one double bed and an en-suite shower. Occupants also have access to the communal kitchen. The toilets are in the main clubhouse building. £10 per night.

Cafe & Bar
We have a cafe at the airfield providing a range of meals from breakfast to evening meals throughout the summer and on a self service basis out of season. The cafe is run and stocked by Annie’s Market Garden so all the meat is locally sourced.

There is also a large purpose built outdoor barbecue for members use.

In the evenings there is a fully licensed members bar.

Fuel & Maintenance
Avgas is available at the airfield when the office is open. Please contact the office for the price.

There is a maintenance hangar at the airfield for the use of members at the rate of £20 per day.
