Welcome to Perranporth Flying Club, based at Cornwall’s only tarmac-surfaced General Aviation airfield. We exist primarily to promote the participation in flying for people from the local community & welcome everyone who wants to come & enjoy our wonderful sport. The club has nearly 100 members, some of whom are training for their PPLs, some who fly their own aircraft & others who enjoy helping out & being involved in the active & friendly atmosphere.

Services

Our training school has an enviable record of guiding students successfully through both the European & the National PPL courses, & also the IMC Rating course.

Visitors are always made welcome & Perranporth is an ideal base for visiting the beautiful county of Cornwall – indeed the cliff-top setting of the airfield with a view of Perranporth’s stunning surfing beach is a treat in its own right! The airfield lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, & rare birds of prey, butterflies & wild flowers can be seen from the cliff-top walks nearby.

A War Memorial to pilots killed during the Second World War is situated next to the control tower & every year we host a well-attended memorial service. Aeroplanes first used this l& in 1924 & later the aerodrome played an important role as a base for squadrons of Spitfires, Avengers & Swordfish between 1941 & 1945.

Please use this site to find out more about our club, about the services we offer & about the other clubs & organisations with whom we share this great location.
