The Beechcraft Beechjet 400, also known as the Hawker 400, was developed by the Beech Aircraft Corporation (later known as Raytheon Aircraft Company and now part of Textron Aviation). The aircraft first flew in 1986 and entered service in 1987. The Beechjet 400 is a light jet aircraft with a low-wing configuration and a T-tail design. It typically seats up to seven passengers, including a pilot. The cabin offers a comfortable and well-appointed environment with amenities such as fold-out worktables, refreshment cabinets, and a private lavatory. The Beechjet 400 is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada JT15D-5 turbofan engines. It has a maximum cruising speed of approximately 465 knots (534 mph) and a maximum range of around 1,800 nautical miles (2,070 miles). These performance characteristics make it well-suited for short to medium-range flights. The Beechjet 400 is equipped with a range of avionics systems to support safe and efficient flight operations.
