VoltAero is a French electric aircraft manufacturer that’s headquartered just a few miles west of Angouleme – the twin town to Bury where AvPay was originally founded! The company has been working on electric aircraft projects since 2011, starting with the VoltAero Cri Cri which was an ultra lightweight aircraft that was powered by 4 electric engines. The company then developed the VoltAero E-Fan which became the first electric commercial airplane to cross the English Channel. These developments led to the VoltAero Cassio 1 flying testbed. The company is aiming to bring its five seat VoltAero Cassio 330 into service by 2024.
