The Handley Page Victor was the third of the V Bombers to enter service with the Royal Air Force and is famed for being the first large aircraft to break the sound barrier. The Victor was retired from the bomber role in 1965 after fatigue cracks were found in the airframe, however the air to air refuelling variant continued in service until 1993, when they were replaced by the VC10.
