What does it mean to be FAA Part 107 certified and why is it important?

If you work on a constructino site and you are using an SUAS to take pictures of the site, you are violating FAA regulations (if not certified). To become an SUAS remote pilot, you must pass an aeronautical knowledge test at an FAA approved knowledge-testing-centre and undergo a Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) security screening. This certification is renewed every 2 years by taking the aeronautical knowledge test. The test is composed of random questions, ensuring that you’re well-versed in the regulations set forth by the FAA.
