William Hulse – 3 Top tips for selection days:

To join us on our LEAP course, our students have to pass our selection process which gives them access to our Training Guarantee. We know that selection days can be a nerve-wracking experience so we caught up with one of our training advisors, William Hulse, to ask him for his best 3 tips on the day itself:

1) Try to remember nobody hires a first officer. At Leading Edge Aviation, like most airlines, we are looking to see if you have the potential to make a great captain in the future. Make sure you show the assessor your leadership and teamwork skills that highlight how one day you can become the captain of a flight.

2) We aren’t trying to trick you. It is in our best interest for you to pass your selection day but we want to make sure that you are ready and able to complete our course and make a great pilot. Make sure you do the required preparation before and you’ll have no trouble in being successful

3) One question that will always come up in an interview is “Why do you want to be a pilot”. Remember that an interviewer has heard a lot of responses to this question previously. Is there something you can say that is different or unique that will make you stand apart from everyone else?
