Booker Gliding Club December 2020 Update 2

Booker Gliding Club December 2020 Update 1 J-minOn 8th December the planning application for a glider take-off track on the north side of Wycombe Air Park was approved. This is good news for the club as it is part of the process of our move to the north side made necessary by the development of the south part of the airfield.

Booker Gliding Club December 2020 Update 3Meanwhile, we are still being refused permission to fly at WAP by the airfield manager who is in a commercial dispute (nothing to do with us) with the owner, Bucks Council. We don’t know what the grounds for refusal are as the manager won’t tell us, except to cite ‘safety’. We are working on getting permission to fly at Abingdon, an Army base, against opposition from RAF Benson, who also won’t talk to us. You’d think we would know something about gliding, the club having been in existence since the 1950s.
