Veronte Expander 2

Extended I/O

With Veronte CEX, the data capacity for input & output in Veronte Autopilot is highly increased. Its advanced design makes it possible to control several peripherals (PWM, UART, Digital Output, I2C, Analog Inputs…) through a redundant CAN Bus.

It can be used to expand the I/O capacity in Veronte Autopilot or to control peripherals with a robust communication protocol. If needed, it is possible to install several Veronte autopilot expander CEX boards in the same network to increase the number of I/O ports as per system architecture needs.

Wiring Optimization

In a sector where weight is such an important agent, wiring is one of the most common struggles faced during drone design. Veronte autopilot expander CEX uses CAN Bus for long distance cables (autopilot to CEX) & leaves less robust signals only for short cables close to the peripherals (CEX to device).

This robustness makes the system resistant to electromagnetic interference & permits the installation of long cables without signal loss. Furthermore, it includes redundancy with CAN Bus isolation, making the system operational even in case of a CAN Bus break of line.

Redundancy

Safety is a critical factor in the drone industry, especially when focusing on a UAV Certification. Redundancy is a basic feature for any system which is a candidate to pass exams & tests with demanding safety levels, remaining operational even in case of a CAN Bus break of line.

The redundant CAN Bus includes galvanic isolation, in order to avoid the propagation of electrical failure in the system. In the case that one of the lines became affected by an electrical issue, the other CAN Bus line will remain operative & unaffected.
