Description

Here at Flight Training UK, we LOVE Motor Gliders, they are such great fun, great value and offer new and exciting opportunities to expand your flying

To add a TMG class rating to your LAPL or PPL is really simple, its as easy as 1-2-3.

Step 1: Complete our training course, ideally over a 1 week period, but can be split over a few weeks if needed.

Step 2: Fly with one of our friendly FE TMG. (don’t worry, we will work with you to get you to the required standard)

Step 3: Then apply to the CAA to have the class rating added to your licence. Using SRG3108 and submitting/uploading an the Examiners report form SRG1157

Our course consists of 3 to 5 hrs flying, including, 6 to 10 take offs and landings (including engine on and engine off) The theory you’ll need and as mush soaring as we can get. After all, with the engine off, why not!

Note: Having a TMG class rating on your licence has many benefits, for example, it will enable you to keep your SEP valid at a fraction of the cost of flying a PA28 or Cessna 172 as SEP and TMG hours count together. “If you hold valid ratings written on your licence for both TMG and SEP, when you revalidate you may use the same flight time for both and ensure both ratings are signed up.” (CAA website)
