The Dambusters Helicopter Pleasure Flight from Sherburn Airfield

You will depart from Sherburn In Elmet aerodrome for an exclusive flight for up to three or four people lasting 75 minutes. You will retrace the path of the famous 617 Dambusters Squadron used by them during World War Two to practice flying at low levels over the dams in preparation for the raids.

Flying at around 1500 feet, your helicopter will overfly Ladybower Dam, Howden Dam and the majestic Derwent Dam with the twin towers that were used to replicate the German targets with the famous bomb aimer’s sight. The beautiful Peak District of Derbyshire was used by bomber crews for low level practice through World War Two and is a beautiful backdrop for a spectacular helicopter flight
