Satellite Pictures is a video content producing company set up in 2007 by David Hewitt to specialise in creating budgeted short films for either fiction, social, promotional or commercial purposes.

David has a huge and varied background from Film, Television Drama & Documentary, Music Video, Commercials, Digital and Web content.
He has an approach which is conscientious, friendly, inspirational and economical to the most creative solution to any problem.
His work has won many prestigious awards, and have been screened at many film festivals worldwide.
These include BAFTA, London Film Festival, TCM, TriBeCa Film Festival, Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, New York Film Festival, Brief Encounters, SXSW, Marbella International Film Festival and many more.

Services

David Hewitt is a CAA qualified Drone UAV Pilot, providing aerial imaging services including photography, video and inspections, surveys, property.

He currently flies Mavic Pro 2, Mavic Air 2 where possible and flies DJI’s Mini 2 for jobs where restrictions are tighter. These are all 4K video cameras. Drone laws changed on January 1st 2021 and restrictions became based on the weight of the drone and the proximity of uninvolved people.
His approach is safety, and to check Flight Restriction Zones (FRZ), Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) local bye-laws, and seek permission from local Air Traffic Control (ATC) where appropriate. Most drone work is possible as long as the correct procedures, risk assessments and permissions are obtained. This is all done in pre-flight phase and will be provided to the client in advance.
Depending on the request, he can also provide top class ground video work, post-production and editing.
David is extremely experienced in video and this instantly adds to his creativity in the sky. His years of professionalism also means that the safety and regulations are the first and foremost priority.
His speciality is to integrate and understand drone footage with a location or subject for narrative purpose rather than ‘just a drone shot’.
