California Aviation Services, Inc. courses are FAA approved under Part 141 and Part 61. In addition to the flight time and pilot experience you will be gaining in our Part 141 course, we provide individual or group ground school sessions. If you want to be a proper pilot, you need to be able to fly a proper aeroplane, an aeroplane with a conventional undercarrage. Two main wheels up front and a wheel on the tail is said to have a conventioanl undercarrage, because when aeroplanes were first built/designed, that was the norm. Then in the 1960's the 'land-o-matic' system was introduced, it made landing an aeroplane much easier, having a tri-cycle undercarrage became the most popular design.

Holders of a pilot licence with privileges to fly aeroplanes or TMGs shall only tow sailplanes when they hold the appropriate sailplane towing rating.

Once you have your part-FCL PPL (A) TMG, you'll be able to add a SEP class rating to your licence then you'll be able to complete the Tail Wheel differences training course and finally, add a Sailplane Towing Rating to your Pilot's Licence
