PROFILE & REQUIRED SKILLS

The position requires a multi-tasking, skilled person that will ensure the quality & reliability of products & service sold by ALSIM Simulators. The main responsibilities involve completion of the flight simulators. This includes testing of the device, installation at customer’s location, & after sales telephone & onsite support related to the simulator’s operation.

 

Final assembly of simulators to include:

Installation of computers;

Loading of software, OS & application;

Installation of all cables for communication purposes;

Installation & calibration of projectors & visual software;

Installing GPS;

Performing hardware tests;

Final adjustments & tests.

 

Installation & Maintenance

Installation of simulators at client site;

Perform test & approve the simulator efficiency;

Diagnose, repair & replace defective components;

Perform upgrades on simulators, from a distance & on site;

Provide a high level of customer care & help client in the day to day running of the simulators by providing on site maintenance training; &

Create a technical report listing any issues & given solution.

 

Monitoring

Deal in real time with the customer’s support requests;

Diagnose & Repair;

Be able to track & follow customers cases, from open to closed.

 

Reports to:

US Site Leader

 

Other requirements:

Full US driving License;

Willing to travel throughout U.S. & Canada (travel can be up to 2 weeks in each month)

REQUIRED SKILLS

Basic knowledge in PC use & repairs

Demonstrate capability to replace defective components on a computer tower such as graphics card, hard drives, additional network board, RAM & other defective parts;

Basic knowledge in Linux;

Show a basic understanding of the working management of Linux be able to search, replace & modify files;

Basic knowledge of electronics;

Be able to diagnose an electronic board using the basic electronic knowledge, with or without the schematic; &

Perform soldiering to replace defective components.

 

Basic Mechanical Skills

Use of standard tools like screwdrivers, spanner, saw, electric saw, drill, crowbar.

 

Other Skills

Understanding of aeronautical language a big plus;

Sense of customer care.

The position will be responsible for the service quality & services provided by Alsim. The role will deal with customers on a day to day basis & will have to integrate a trust climate between the customer & Alsim.
