Booker Gliding Club moving to Abingdon

18th September, 2021

Today we bid a sad farewell to Chiltern Park, our temporary base, which is closing soon, & headed for our new temporary base at Abingdon, quite a different proposition. It will take a while to get used to 2km of tarmac runway!

While we were busy collecting stuff & dismantling things, & ferrying aircraft, 15year old cadet Leo Sentinella was over at Dunstable winning the Dan Smith Memorial Trophy for aerobatics with a score of 80.5%. Just shows what coaching from Graham Saw can achieve.

Please note that Booker has not gone away, we are still going strong, & will be back at Wycombe Air Park, our home for 70 years, as soon as the ongoing legal action is resolved. We are currently being prevented from flying there by the Accountable Manager/leaseholder, who is in a commercial dispute with the owner, Bucks Council.
