Drone pilot license training course

In Open Category A2, you can fly drones up to 30m distance of an uninvolved person & down to 5m from an uninvolved person operating in a low-speed mode if the drone has the appropriately Class Identification Marking (currently not available on the open market). We comprehensively cover what you can & can’t do if you fly a “legacy” drone or a drone that does not have a Class identification marking.

During this course, we will cover these subjects:
Meteorology; Unmanned Aircraft System’s (UAS) flight performance; Technical & operational mitigations for ground risk.

On the completion of this training, you will be able to:
Find, read & accurately interpret weather forecasts before undertaking each flight.
Understand the basic principles of flight, determine maximum payloads & assess the battery condition when operating their UAS.
Safely pilot the UAV in the correct geographical area, avoid uninvolved people & avoid the typical hazards on every flight they make.

To receive your Remote Pilot Competency Course Completion Certificate:
Once you have completed the Open Category A2 Training Course, then you will sit the 30 questions MCQ. Once you achieve 75% or more, then you can attain your Remote Pilot Competency Course Completion Certificate.

To receive your Remote Pilot Certificate Of Competency:
You must also register with the IAA & complete the A1/A3 Theoretical Knowledge examination, & have your IAA Operator Number.
