1977 Pitts Special S2A Single Engine Piston Aircraft (SOLD)
A rare opportunity to purchase our own immaculate Pitts Special S2A. The aircraft used to be registered G-HISS & was famous on the airshow circuit in the 1980’s with its very striking paint scheme. The airframe underwent a nut & bolt restoration in 2008 where everything was replaced with new. The engine & propeller were zero timed & new fabric & paint applied by Ian Searson. This is still an immaculate Pitts all these years later & is a testament to the workmanship that went into the rebuild. The aircraft has always been hangered & maintained at a combination of ATS at Wycombe & Aircraft Restoration company at Duxford. Only operated from tarmac runways & not used for training. Personal ownership for standard level aeros. Flown regularly, 3 hours per week. Steady oil pressure & great compressions. Priced for a quick sale to take advantage of an S1T currently on offer.
