Embention strengthens European innovation with ACTUS project collaboration

Embention, a leader in the design and manufacture of autopilots and avionics for autonomous vehicles, is proud to announce its key role in the ACTUS (Advanced Capabilities & Certification for Tactical UAV Systems) project, led by INTRACOM DEFENSE (IDE) and funded by the EDF. This high-profile project aims to improve the capabilities and certification of European Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems (T-RPAS), including the continuation of the LOTUS project, a key development in the European UAV sector.

As part of the project consortium, Embention is contributing significantly to the technological advances required for the certification and operational deployment of the LOTUS UAV system. Specifically, Embention is tasked with the development of key hardware and software components for the LOTUS project, aimed at achieving full airworthiness certification for T-RPAS. These systems are critical to improving the operational effectiveness of UAVs in complex environments that require high reliability and precision.

Embention’s participation in the ACTUS project underscores its continued leadership in UAV technology, particularly in the areas of flight control and mission management systems. Embention will provide advanced Veronte autopilot systems and the Ground Control Station (GCS). These contributions are designed to meet the project’s rigorous standards, including certification compliance with DO-254, DO-178C, and DO-160 standards.

Embention’s role in certification

As part of its commitment to the ACTUS project, Embention will play a key role in ensuring the certification of the LOTUS UAV system. Embention will work to meet the stringent requirements set by the European Airworthiness Authorities, with a focus on airworthiness type certification and ensuring the LOTUS system is operational.

Commitment with Innovation

Embention’s participation in ACTUS reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to the advancement of unmanned aerial systems. As a recognized leader in autopilot and flight management systems, Embention continues to push the boundaries of what is possible for UAVs in complex and challenging environments.
