Wayward Spirit Drone Photo of LakeTumbleweed Ahoy!

November 18, 2021

This week I have had nothing on… nada… not even the whiff of a job!

I finished last week with a Saturday morning photography & filming session for a local business which was great, but with house sale instructions pretty much done for the year there has been nothing coming in from that source.  Not to worry though, I have a load of leaflets arrived which have just been printed so I am starting to sort out my plans for distributing those shortly to try & drum up some business in other areas!

Next week I have a wee job to do, probably about an hour’s worth of work, but it is going to be a 2 day-er to complete as it involves a long journey out to Lewis again.  I was looking forward to it, but the long range weather forecasts are suggesting that it is going to be a “challenging” trip!  Fortunately the Jeep is going in for super-chunky All Terrain tyres tomorrow which are rated for snow use in the high mountains of the US & Europe… & I may need them!  I haven’t got any chains yet to fit though so perhaps I should get on to that asap!

Otherwise I had a nice vote on confidence yesterday when I won the Property Photography of the Year award for November, putting me into the finals for Exterior Photography!  I only started this in September & have not had a great amount of work come through so this is more than a little pleasing!  Onwards & upwards!

Wayward Spirit Northern Lights Drone PhotoBusy… Not Working!

November 10, 2021

Since “work” has gone quiet over the last couple of weeks (I have had a job a week which hasn’t even covered it’s costs) I have been busy getting on with some other things.  Planning has been a big part of it, but also working on some new promotional material to start distributing in a few weeks, & also making a few calls “in person” which are looking like they may be more fruitful moving forward.

I am planning to start really growing the drone side of things next, particularly once I upgrade my current commercial authorisation from PfCO to GVC & update my Operations Manual.  The other side of things will (I hope) start taking care of itself soon as I hope to set a consultancy into action on that front soon & then I can leave a lot of it to Jen from there on.

My biggest win though – for the second month in a row I have become a finalist in the National Property Photography of the Year Award!  It would be lovely to win the month this time around, particularly as I currently have nothing to offer for November!
