September 30, 2021

The last couple of weeks have continued to be pretty manic, I am slowly getting to grips with the property photography, although it has prompted a big shake up in my workflow which I am planning to work on over the weekend ready to put it in place for next week.  I am switching from laptop working at a desk to tablet working in the field in an attempt to get the process much smoother & more efficient.  If this works for me it will feed into a gradual shift further from my previous status quo with as much editing done on the tablet as possible & an eventual shift from a laptop to desktop for back in the office (which will help with storage capacity as well as offering more “bang for the buck” in terms of processing power.

I am continuing to work on the wedding shots from a fortnight ago between jobs, but the last couple of days have necessitated some serious back-office work which has slowed progress on that task.  I need to get on with it asap though!

I have just booked an exciting job in for late October over on the Isle of Lewis which I am rather looking forward to.  It was going to be a reasonably well paying day, but we have decided to go over en-mass for a night or two so that Jen & the boys can get a first visit to the Outer Hebrides which will be fantastic, but does mean that the trip is now barely breaking even (once I add the other expenses of the trip it is going to work out neutral I think, better than losing money on it though!)

Otherwise, work is tending to centre around Inverness, Elgin & Tain just now with the odd outlier such as Newtonmore.  I am working with 4 agents in particular & another few ad-hoc so as these agents expand their portfolios I will no doubt find myself in ever more unusual places!  I am rather enjoying it, my work is getting better as I start to get an eye on the property game & I am becoming more efficient with the 360 scans (which should get a big boost next week with the new tech).

We need to make a big push over the next few days to try & get the ball rolling with the accommodation business as we really need to see that become a reality in Spring 2022 & I need to book some more drone courses for the winter too.  But just now things are starting to look positive & we have (hopefully) made a start which we can grow from.
