✈ The Cessna Citation I competed directly with models such as the Hawker HS125, North American Sabreliner, Learjet 23 and the Aero Commander 1121 Jet Commander.
✈ The Cessna Citation I featured a larger wingspan when compared with the Cessna 500 and was fitted with JT15D-1A engines, which increased the aircraft’s speed and range.
✈ The Cessna Citation I was one of the first business jets to be certified for Single Pilot Operations.
✈ Production of the Cessna Citation I was halted in 1985, so that Cessna could develop and roll-out future models such as the Cessna Citation II and the Cessna Citation Bravo.
✈ The Cessna Citation I’s straight wings meant that it cruised slightly slower than its sweep-wing competitors. At the time competitors said the aircraft was so slow that it was prone to bird strikes from the rear!
